I sure don't blame Buffett for using a Fill or Kill order for the salvageable pieces of the dissected monolines -- not formally pulling out when he couldn't get what he wanted might have left the impression he was willing to negotiate about taking up the bankrupt side of the business, which he wasn't/isn't

"Nothing like '73 or '74 yet" -- nope, not yet, Warren -- back then we were still careening down the road on the way to the 1975 New York City bond default, not to mention Washington Public Power, the scale and gravity of which is hardly matched by something like today's little Vallejo CA potentially going bankrupt -- so in that respect, I guess you could say that the fun this go-round has barely begun
