The top 1% pay 21% of the income tax yet the top 1% owns 1/3 of the nation's wealth. In other words, they're not paying their fare share by more than 50%.

I long for the day of a simple, fair, flat tax, where if you own one percent of the nation's wealth, you pay 1% of the nation's taxes... Simple, flat, and fair...

And this study doesn't count the payroll tax which is disproportionately paid by the lower end of the spectrum which means our tax system is even more regressive and more unfair than your study indicates...

The Forbes 400 under Bush control 11% of the country's wealth and Bush's big goal now is to make estate taxes extinct. In other words to let these 400 mega-rich families get away without helping the country whatsoever, further bankrupting our government and degrading our nation and middleclass.

When you hear the term "death tax" beware, there is a crooked greedy Republican working for the billionaires who is lying to you.
