If a child of a Jewish religious person decides he doesn't believe in the Jewish religion, and is therefore not Jewish (since it's a religion and nothing else, in the modern world), The Arab world - that same world which you're in the middle of but seem oblivious to - is overflowing with hatred of Jews as a people. Jews are called "sons of apes and pigs" in a thousand mosques every Friday and their destruction is urged and prayed for. In these circumstances, it is both ludicrous and offensive that you sit back and claim Judaism is a religion and nothing more in the modern world. If you omit the entire Middle East from the modern world it's slightly truer. But still not true.

I have as much right to define terms as anyone. So you have a right to tell Catholics they're not Catholic if you think so? Armenians they're not Armenian? You can tell Barack Obama he's not black because his ancestors weren't slaves? Well I suppose you can do this. You will succeed in making a complete jackass of yourself.
