The trial doesnt have anything to do with Obama. At worst, he or Michelle would have been called as character witnesses for Rezko (who Obama has described as a "friend")...but they werent on the list of witnesses.

The governor (Blagojevich) wasnt on the list of witnesses either but I think some of his advisors will be featured prominently. This trial is about Rezko arranging kickbacks and donations in return for political favors...and it is likely to get pretty ugly. Blagojevich has been denying that he is "Public Official A" even though the judge has identified him as such. Personally, I'm hoping that this trial does dig up some dirt on Blagojevich...he is a loathesome combination of populist pandering and machine politics all in one package.

Again, Obama really showed a disturbing lack of judgement by going into a deal with Rezko at a time when rumors were already swirling. It doesnt look like the press will find much here, but I dont have a problem with them asking questions.
