I would venture to guess that the US is among the worst in personal bankruptcies, divorces, drug addiction, and births out of wedlock. I know for a fact that we are among the worst in percentage of people who are or have been incarcerated.

Yes, health insurance is a good thing. Making me pay for your health insurance because you're feckless is not a good thing.

I would also venture to guess that the diabetes, heart disease etc. preventable disease rate is highest among those with Medicare or Medicaid. I need to go to work but will check back later to see if you can prove I am wrong on that bet.
