<<...Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama...>>

She CAN NOT win without Obama (and his energized supporters)...yet, WHY would he ever want to run with her...? Hillary has way too much baggage and does not represent the type of politics that Obama is all about...I could NEVER see Barack Obama accepting a VP position and running with Hillary. And, I could NEVER see Obama selecting Hillary as his running mate...Obama will select someone with extensive foreign policy experience as his running mate (and I still think Virginia Senator Jim Webb may the front runner for that position).

Axelrod: “I think we’re willing to join the debate. If they want to define the debate in terms of the issues they’ve laid out in the past week, if they want to throw the kitchen sink, they’re going to engender a response. If they want to have a discussion about ethics, then we’ll have a discussion about ethics. If they want to have a discussion about who is prepared to be commander in chief, then we’re going to ask the hard questions about the decisions that’s she’s made. If she wants to say she’s going to be a steward of the economy, and talk about her accomplishments in public life, then we’re going to talk about that. It isn’t going to be a one-way debate. “

Given the open contempt expressed for him by Clinton ("...all he has is one speech in 1992..."), why on earth would she consider Obama as VP on her ticket ?

Patently absurd.

And she's not going to win anyhow.

:)

Glenn, I don't think that the Obama people want to go negative on Clinton, which would be perceived as a disconnect from their message of "change."

I've been wanting Obama to hammer away at her to release the White House records and tax records..why would that have been negative?[not rhetorical, I really want to know] I think this was a grave strategic error since way before Feb 05th..the debate on October 30th gave him the opening when Russert asked her about the delay..

He and Goolsbee made some mistake in communication re: Canada/Nafta..but Obama can come up with 100s of those kinds of examples on Hillary..

Unfortunate for him the Rezko trial began this week but I must say that even as a supporter, he hasn't been strong enough there..

Let's see what they put forth...

Obama needs to fight back and not necessarily go negative. IMO, he wanted the clock to run out and strangely he kept quiet last 4 days leading upto election and did not do his big rallys. Also the black turnout was low in Texas than what was expected. If they are strong, they will not make this mistake in Mississippi and North Carolina. Also some relaxation factor might have creeped in
