Bushies, Nazis and Soviets all attacked the press and demonized them. Under Bushies, Fox News rose to prominence, a 24 hour rightwing propaganda/news station run by Roger Ailes, GHW Bush's former communications director who is extremely biased and literally works in conjunction with the Bush RNC. The rightwing radio talkers are the same. On the flipside, the Bush rightwing has orchestrated broadside attacks against all major newspapers and networks which are not rightwing. From the New York Times to CNN to CBS to the LA Times, you name it, right down the line. ALl of our greatest news orgs are under constant attack from the rightwing. Why do they attack our press? Because they do not believe in the Founding Fathers intent, that any strong democracy MUST have a powerful independent press capable of exposing and bringing down corrupt politicians, including presidents.
