I agree that controlling illegal immigration is job one. It must be done before we implement universal health care. And it's not "control of our borders". Trying to control illegal immigration at the border is like trying to win the Iraq war or the war on drugs. But we can easily control it internally, if we make it almost impossible to work, unless you are legal. This mean strict criminal penalties for anybody employing an illegal, and employer and local law enforcement access to a fast government check of who is legal and who is not. And we need resources for swift coordination between local law enforcement and the Feds to quickly deport apprehended illegals. Far easier and cheaper than building and manning an impregnable 3 thousand mile fence.
