To: Suma who wrote (51807 ) 3/5/2008 2:26:09 PM From: slacker711 Respond to of 541774 I am going to find statistics and get them here so you all can see the great division between air time for one political group over another. The Republicans have more air time, own more radio stations which may be why the 120 plus right wing radio hosts control the air ways. Three to four hours an afternoon here Sarasota and also in Boone, NC. I guess I see the analogy that where one group has no voice we have a dictatorship. Normally, I'd just write off your post as hyperbole, but unfortunately, I think you actually believe this nonsense. No, Rush and Hannity yammering away on the radio for a few hours a day doesnt constitute a dictatorship, or anything even close to it. There is no right wing conspiracy that is keeping liberals off the radio. The fact is, liberals have shown little propensity to listen to liberal radio. My theory is that the the Democratic base is too diverse. The intellectuals are listening to NPR, African Americans have plenty of black radio options, latinos are listening to spanish radio and so on. In contrast, the Republican base is much more monolithic. In any case, if right wing radio was anywhere near as effective as you portray it, Democrats would never win elections....and yet, the House and Senate are Democratic, state houses and governships across the country are trending blue and there is a significant probability that they will win the Presidency. Not quite the dictatorship that you mention. BTW, for the sake of your own sanity, stop worrying about what Rush and rest are up to. Listen to NPR or buy an iPod and load it with liberal podcasts. The world is a lot bigger than a couple of blowhards that happen to be on your radio. Slacker
