The Vietnam War was a HUGE-HUGE dishonest blunder based on packs of lies and Cold War fear-mongering. If the rightwing had not murdered JFK it might never have escalated. But LBJ was in so deep with Halliburton and the war profiteers that he was willing to lie us into that war. Nixon continued the lies and prolonged the war. And it was all for nothing. It never had any purpose whatsoever. It was all a huge bloody lie and mistake, and was lost mostly due to the corruption of our South Vietnamese allies and our own war profiteers, those who had a financial stake in keeping it going forever. Sound famiuliar? See Iraq today. Proof is, once we left Vietnam was never any threat to us whatsoever. In fact now, they are a peaceful nation and quite capitalistic. So the whole war was a big fat waste, and was filled with many atrocities, though those who served in combat certainly deserve our deepest kudos, including Captain John Kerry, a Silver Star and Bronze Star winner who proved his mettle in combat. Unlike Bush-Cheney who both evaded service. Not a single major rightwing leader ever served in combat. Think about that. All cowards and traitors as they perped another gigantic lie on us to start the Iraq debacle, a blunder equally as costly as Vietnam in terms of weakening the USA and bleeding us of riches and some of our finest military heros. Those who smear our war heros, as the smearvets did in 2004, and same A-holes did to Cleland in 2002 and McCain in 2000, are nothing but low-down traitors. And so are those who support and repeat their libel.
