just use redfin. Put the address in there, and you can easily see what it last sold for.

There are other sites that do this too, like propertyshark. But redfin has the best UI.

Redfin also shows historical sales for properties that are not active, its a button on their search.

I can see why the real estate industry doesn't really like Redfin, hiding info like this is the only reason RE agents really need to exist.
