We agree the system needs repair. We disagree as to how we define radical and costly, but we can not begin to get into that part of the discussion if at the core you do not believe that government should be involved in health care in the first place. It already is involved, in a very big way. And why can't you get in to the discussion of what's wrong with the system and how it might be improved, without first agreeing that the government needs to be more involved (or even involved at all)? You might indeed come to an agreement at the end of the conversation that there should be more government involvement, but its hardly a prerequisite for a conversation about the problem. It seems your putting the conclusion ahead of the discussion.

both of you say you are willing to discuss it, but at the core you do not believe government has the right to spend taxpayer money on health care. Any objections that you have in a legitimate discussion in this context on this subject is really a red herring. You know, that really makes me mad. Are you hearing voices? Because I have never ever EVER said I didn't believe government should be spending taxpayer money on health care. Ever. Government is already spending a great deal of tax money on this. I want to know just what more they intend to spend and on what, and I want to know how it will be better for all, and why a complete overhaul is necessary IF there are alternatives. You are either trying to deceive us or you are deceiving yourselves Yes, that;s it. I am heavily invested in deceiving you and this thread. I've been plotting this for months. It;s part of a conspiracy. I don't yet know why, but you probably do. Yeesh. YOu are right about one thing. Discussion between us is a lost cause.
