What we really need is more social workers who understand the system we already have. Hospitals have them, as it is in the best interest of the hospital to get paid. I was very impressed by the hospital social workers I encountered. I've actually given some thought to seeing if there are volunteer opportunities where I could get training and then provide that kind of assistance. I may do that. After my windows are installed, my house painted, and I get a new rug, that is. That's really useful work to do.
