Deductibles of even $500 make it impossible to get any care at all for basic stuff. That means after essentials, like rent, food, transportation etc...

Either health care is one of those essentials, in which case it isn't after them, but effects the decisions about them as well (for instance my example of how if I had to pay a lot more for insurance I would have bought a used car rather than a new one), or it isn't one of the essentials, in which case I don't see any need for some sort of national program about it.

Now those who are in poverty might not have enough for the essentials, but they already receive assistance, and even if you think they should get more, that doesn't mean you have to have a government program for everyone.
