Pole-climber is a misnomer. It was the name AC Flyer -a guy in another thread- gave once I told I started my career installing microwave antennas on top of towers. I liked the name and kept it. We have more research and heath care than we need. I had a ocne a girl friend in Munich. I used to go to a bar in Munchner Freiheit and she worked in the bar on the weekend. One Saturday I met her with the nicest dressing for a wound one could find. I was shocked. I thought something really serious happened. Called her during the week and we met, the dressing was removed. and it was just a small cut. Anywhere you would have put a band aid on it and that would be it. In Germany it was a whole half arm dressing. I avoid discussing that since she didn't like me to criticize Germany unless she was the one who started. I thought: Those guys have more health care that they need. You can extend this to all kinds of medical/scientific stuff. By the way doing pole climbing and dealing with Microwave was supposed to make one eunuch, impotent, gay, sterile or all that all together. I have become neither of it, nor intend to. Only someone told me that we all pole-climbers and assorted radio guys have daughters. Microwave kills the chromosome that produces boys...
