That is the key to their survival, selling jumbos to the GSE's with the new higher loan limit. The problem is that jumbos are in highly overpriced markets that are dropping fast.

My brother lives in a big home in a nearby nice area (all jumbo loans) while I live in a slightly smaller home in a more moderate area (all conventional loans). According to the state tax assessments that just came out his home lost 7% of it's market value last year while mine lost less than 1%. Both of our tax assessments still went up.
