Yeah, originally SPSN was also talking about doing 4k WSPW out of the gate. I think the realities of SPSN's cash situation have caused a general slow down in the implementation of new technology. Obviously having the latest and greatest technology would be very nice. However, with 65nm SP1, SPSN has such a cost/production advantage that they should be able to both increase margins and take market share. This in turn should then allow SPSN to be more proactive going forward.

Given the uncertainty in the macro economic picture I feel quite comfortable with the way SPSN management is implementing SP1. From what I've read it looks like SPSN can implement 45nm any time they want. However, I don't think they need it for their core business right now. I see 45nm as more of a move to compete in some of the markets that are exclusively NAND now and being necessary for new ventures such as the Virident partnership.
