IMO, the most important factor coming into play right now is the psychology of the major fund mgrs. They don't want the picture taken, at quarter end, with them holding the bag...aka report an EOQ portfolio list full of stocks that tanked!

So, pressure will increase on them to sell if the broad market indices continue to erode tomorrow and into next week. A sharp break of Dow 12k on volume would probably trigger a stampede and give us a classic end of quarter institutional portfolio blow out.

Even the PM sector is by far the strongest group in the market, it will be pulled down with the broad list in an EOQ blowout.

Given the above, the PPT will try to hold 12k with copious index call buying til the FED is ready to cut rates again. Putting all the pieces together, the odds still favor a good tradable ST low next week.
