If the campaign is all about dinging each other for every little twitch in their careers, the race will just disintegrate further. Right now, the odds of taking a strong, unified party into the fall campaign are steadily receding. Which is a bummer. I'd like to see the press calling for a higher level of debate. But they love the "petty, divisive" stuff as Sen. Casey from PA just called it on CNN. He is staying neutral because he knows how close states like his will be this fall.
