i hope the electorates choose wisely

The American system doesn't need perfect presidents. Good thing, too, as we never had one. In large part they derive their power from the atavistic need for heroic leaders to inspire the masses to influence the rest of the government. It is, as Teddy Roosevelt said, "a bully pulpit," "bully" meaning "bully for you," a compliment.

The Congress writes and passes the laws, the Judiciary enforces the laws, the agencies run the executive branch, the guys who head the agencies are mostly cronies, so it's best to choose the one with the best cronies.

Not that I could tell you who that is.

McCain has been around a very long time, and he's managed to stay pretty clean.

Clinton not so clean, she fights dirty and has no self-awareness, and I agree with you that Obama is peddling snake oil.
