Good point Steve. I like Corpitalism. I'll use that from now on.

I don't think even pure capitalism- whatever that looks like- would fix the mess we're in with regard to food, though.

We don't practice "capitalism" anymore. It is "corpitalism". Where corporations have rights and laws are made to favor them at the expense of the individual

To the extent such is the case, you only strengthen the trend when you have government control more. Because then corporations have more incentive and more ability to get laws and regulations tilted in their favor.

Ethics laws might possibly help, but I really think even good ones would tend to nibble around the edges of the problem, making the most blatant influence peddling illegal, but still keeping the incentive and ability for special interests to lobby for targeted benefits and tilted regulations.
