When I first started doing all the housework, my wife was still with me, but unable to do any of it. I would tackle the entire house, trying to get it all done in one day. Thankfully, she was able to point out the foolishness of that. Now I do a "chore" or two a week. Living alone, and constantly picking up after myself, never leaves a mess. Today is laundry day for everything but the sheets and they get it tomorrow. That will be it for the weekend. One day next week I'll vacuum, another I'll dust and another I'll get to the bathroom. I never go upstairs anymore, but must do that at least once a month, just to flush and run water down the drains. I only dust up there when I'm gonna have company stay with me.... a very rare event. Otherwise, the door stays closed.
