Given that a Dem is in the process of winning Denny Hastert's seat today, Blunt may want to reevaluate, lol

>>Senior Republican Rep. Roy Blunt of Missouri says he’s optimistic his party can regain a majority this November.<<

Oops, LOL

"Louisiana Democrat Don Cazayoux won a U.S. House seat that Republicans had held for more than 20 years, expanding the Democratic majority in Congress and showing increased party strength in Republican strongholds.

Democratic State Representative Cazayoux received 49 percent of the vote yesterday to 46 percent for Republican Woody Jenkins, a former state legislator, with all precincts reporting.

``Don Cazayoux's victory this evening proves once again that Americans across our country want real solutions and reject Republicans' negative attacks,'' House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, said in a statement last night.

The victory in the special election is the second time in three months that a Democrat was elected to finish the term of a Republican who resigned from office. Cazayoux will serve out the term of Richard Baker, an 11-term lawmaker who resigned this year to join a Washington trade group. In March, a Democrat won a special election to replace former Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois.

Last month, a Democrat won the most votes and forced a runoff for a U.S. House seat in Mississippi that a Republican held for 13 years."
