Tim, significant portions of the productivity gain numbers are myths. look into hedonic pricing If your getting better products for the same price, that in many ways represents an increase in your real wealth. the irony here is that the ca government makes 30% more money than when arnold was elected - and it still isn't enough. Yes runaway spending by governments. The feds did it at the same time, spending per year has increased by $1tril under Bush. Not good.
