Doubt it. Probably 98%+ of gasoline usage is non-discretionary.

98% is probably two high, but the vast majority is relatively non-discretionary in the short run.

But a few percent in extra demand, combined with the decreased supply you would get from price limits could very easily cause gas lines.

But it's an academic argument, who cares.

Academic for the moment perhaps, but much of the conversation here is. Also I'm not sure that there isn't a possibility of price controls coming back in style eventually.
