Bill Clinton’s Boots on the Ground in Wyoming
By Julie Bosman

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Pausing before he launched into an hourlong speech, Bill Clinton stood in front of hundreds of college students Thursday night and proudly showed off his cowboy boots.
“These boots are special,” he said. “Larry King gave them to me after I had heart surgery.”
Not exactly a current reference for the 20-something crowd before him. (Nor were sayings peppered throughout his speech like, “Then I’ll get into the meat of the coconut here…” that caused at least a couple of students to exchange quizzical glances.)
After all, most of today’s college freshmen were born around 1990, making Mr. Clinton’s two terms in office at most a fuzzy, early memory for them. And after the event, many students sheepishly confessed to being Obama fans.
