I am nick's dad. In the early 1990's; when GHWB was president, as the deputy director of the USAID Eastern Europe office of development Programs I had the honor of working with Soros'es agents who were doing more in some Eastern European countrys to overcome the problems caused by Communist rule than was the American government. I can give a few actual examples, the best might be Soros'es tens of millions of $$$$ given to the American University in Bulgaria, soros had been helping for years when we finally came in with additional assistance. A great school promoting western democratic ideals.

Also Soros paid millions for around 7,000 xerox machines which they placed all over eastern europe. This was critical in spreading democracy; he did this before the countries broke away from russia, a gutsy move.
He had and has a big fund for Democracy. He helped save thousands of lives in Bosnia through providing water purification facilities which we could not fund; etc etc. Soros is a genuine US hero and probably one day history will recognize that.
