Leaving aside the lack of cooperation from some of the aboriginal inhabitants, the major impediment is perhaps the apparent lack of interest from Goldcorp, the major shareholder. It obtained its interest as part of the package deal it made with ABX for all of Placer's Canadian properties. Even though Mt Milligan would see over 50% of its revenue derived from gold, I don't think G has much interest in copper/gold porphyries, nor the copper/moly of Berg.

On the other thread, there is talk about juniors selling their interests to majors. Here it sems more likely that a major could be the vendor
