As far as I can tell, our military is at war with it self. How do conventional officers/Generals, who are the majority, get promoted in insurgency wars when they came up through the officer ranks as Infantry, tank, artillery, etc specialists?? Then you have the other branches with their fancy toys... HH Not really at war with itself.. SF does what SF does. They do it quietly and professionally. You won't see the active guys in front of cameras, they depend on all of us to make their efforts worthwhile and their sacrifices meaningful. Meanwhile, the conventional folks feed off each other and their military academy cliques. That has become very significant since, for the first time, they control both the military and political ends of one of our wars. Even the State Departments Ambassador-at-large for terrorism is a Retired (non-SF) three star and West Point grad. The conventional generals are aligned to create platinum lined retirement parachutes for each other. This time they can do it on three levels.
