Here is $A1.37 per litre. And it's illegal to wash your car yourself :)

Just back. It is 3:40AM. Need to elaborate on that since six months ago. I will do it later on the day.

That seems strange: <saw her first auto engine> Grandson Hayes is not strictly adept at disassembling and reassembling engines but has certainly seen a good number of them and has participated in oil changes, batteries and things. Electric motor replacement, disassembly, reassembly etc. Puncture repair, soldering, drilling, planing, sawing, rasping, burning and all sorts of bloke stuff. Not to mention inspections of all sorts of construction equipment, pulling of levers and stuff. I guess the shed and life in NZ is a different realm from downtown Hong Kong and Boracay.

The previous “evolution” of cars were:
• Embedding new technology as price of processing power went down
• Cosmetic and
• marketing oriented

The real evolution is based on the fuel used by vehicles. Making use of the same platform, engine and fuel infrastructure we feed Ethanol into cars.

It is more likely that cars will be changed rather than the city and people’s lifestyles.
The platforms adapt to the new realities, we will move into:
• Majority of cars 1.000CC to max. 2.000cc.
• Low weight
• 20% of ethanol
• Road pricing

Please watch any movies of the 60s in Europe. All cars were smaller than today’s. We will return to that size of cars. Ok, perhaps with some adaptation to carry fat people.

The present evolution is made by the producer of alternative fuels, but not of cars. Of course the parts makers (Bosch etc)are part of this evolution, but its center is the producer of the cost effective alternative fuel.

The US for a while will not engage full blown into ethanol due to pride. Not invented here syndrome plus pork barrel politics. But it won't last. People's main concern preservation of their suburban lifestyle.

SUMMARIZING THE REAL EVOLUTION:
Late 19th century Germany develops key technologies=>early 20th century US creates the auto industry=>Mid-20th century Japanese modifies auto industry and cars=>end 20th century early/21st century Brazil makes the next step as the test bed for evolution based on cost of fuel.
