Thirteen years ago this day, my wife was lost to metastatic cancer. It started in her stomach, a very difficult place to spot cancer very early. In surgery they discovered her stomach was already 80% consumed. Yet, she had very little discomfort and no pain. All her organs were affected and she died 5 months following surgery, quietly, in her own bed.

People like Justin and Naomi are living proof of having early detection. Though, there are some cancers that, even with early detection, can't be cured but thank God, they are becoming more the rarity than the norm.
