You have already decided what you think can, should and will happen, so me painting alternate scenarios isn't worth the time. If Hillary wants Obama as her understudy, treating him like crap in public is probably not the way to go about it. I know you won't believe anything she does isn't straight out of charm school, but that's the reality as many others see it. I'd say the odds are low that he would take a VP slot, if he goes into the convention with more pledged delegates. But that doesn't fit your scenario so let's not bat it back and forth.
