U.S. Soldier Arrested for Alleged Iraq Rape, Killings

Morning Edition, July 4, 2006 · A joint investigation by the FBI and the U.S. military has led to a former Army soldier being accused of rape and four counts of murder in Iraq. At least three other U.S. soldiers still in Iraq are under investigation in the March 12 rape and killings in Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad.

NPR.org, July 9, 2006 · Four more soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division have been charged amid an ongoing investigation into the alleged rape and murder of an Iraqi teenager and the killings of three of her relatives, U.S. military officials say. A fifth soldier has been charged with dereliction of duty.
