Any kid that "txts" on a cellphone could prove you wrong. Go into any HS and you'll find whole classes conversing in this manner (not necessarily with each other) while the teacher drones on, oblivious. On the computer you've got IM. I don't use it, because I'm a geezer like you, but my niece and nephew do, constantly. You've also got virtual meeting software, with whiteboards, chat rooms, and convo managment, etc.
