Aga offered about $25 million in cash for the chain and $4 million, to be divided among Domain's four top executives, if they stayed through April 2005.

This is the kind of deal that landed Lord Conrad Black (owner of various newspapers and media) in jail.

Black sold one of his papers - and then, there were "non compete" payouts that somebody paid (either the company who BOUGHT the newspaper or the competitors) that went straight to the executives, and not to the firm.
