He quit smoking just as he was beginning the campaign in late 2006-------a condition of Mrs. Obama's for his running for President.

Recently he was asked about the smoking and noted he was still chewing nicorette throughout the campaign.

Nicorette is nicotine-----the same as cigarettes except for the smoke. So he is not going through nicotine withdrawal----he is still hyped up on nicotine.

Real withdrawl from nicotine is brutal---------one begins to look and act sick----and you are.

I remember a story about Al Gore after he lost the election. He was wandering around looking for something to do. He went to one company and the CEO asked him "What can you do for us?" Gore was stunned. Didn't have an answer. No one had ever asked him that.
