A recent study by a dutch concludes, that fat people are not more expensive for societies with public healthcare than thin people, mainly because they live shorter lives, and when they get ill, they often die quickly, whereas healthy people tend to stay alive and need further treatment. However, he admitted that his study did not consider the lower productivity of overweight workers.
