In what capacity? agreed she does not want to "stay home and bake cookies". But to officiate as a First Lady cannot be considered as experience to be C-in-C. If so then Laura Bush could claim that. Good, this is a reasonable rebuttal and not a slur on her character. Let her claim what she wants and the voter can decide if her years as First Lady and Senator 'count'.Besides, Bill Clinton had less experience in foreign policy than Obama has. But Bill Clinton had the judgment (except the stupid lying on Monica) for which he was successful as President. Bill Clinton proves Obama's point. I agree and am not offended as a Hillary admirer to have this pointed out.Why was she so critical about Obama's remark about Reagan when she herself is praising the opposition Pointing out the fact of McCain's experience in foreign policy is not the same as praising him. Do you see this? It's a matter of logic. Bush now has 8 years of foreign policy experience. Are they praiseworthy? Only to a small and declining number of people. As to criticizing Obama's remark about Reagan, I don't think I ever read or heard her own comments or Bill's either. But my own eyebrows definitely went up when I heard Obama say it on TV. To me, it came out as a dissing of the entire Clinton presidency even though Obama probably didn't mean it that way. Obama was pandering in a staunchly red state and probably regrets saying it the way he did. I don't see it as evil, or mean, or whatever and I personally don't hold it against Obama. People slip up in interviews all the time. However, Hillary and Bill's surrogates had every right to say 'Hold on a minute....what the heck does this kind of commentary mean coming from a Democratic candidate.' Obama tried to clarify himself and the campaign moved on. But for me, this event is a real negative as far as my estimation of Obama goes. It seems to me that the Clinton economy can be spun very effectively in the general election because of our current economic deterioration. And it's the Reagan inspired tax-cutting mania that has mainly brought us to such enormous levels of govt. debt. I think Obama undermined the power of this argument by elevating Reagan over Clinton. So I find myself wondering if Obama maybe doesn't understand economics or appreciate Clinton's reduction of the pattern of deficit spending. At the very least, it shows that Obama really values and admires people with charisma who can bring about sweeping changes with the right combination of rhetoric and personality....someone just like himself!! And not the wonky, detail oriented, workhorse trudgers like the Clintons.
