About 10% higher than gas here.

Big tax advantages to diesel in Europe i think. Maybe they should do it here.

>>>Diesel fuel around here (Virginia) is running about 50-60 cents a gallon higher than regular gas.<<<

Same here in Silver Spring, MD. Really upsets me.

Do you know why:

1) low sulfur,

2) competition from heating oil,

3) competition from Europe - they use a much larger fraction of diesel there for automobiles,

4) jealousy from the low mileage SUV owners who have pull in Congress?? Is there a senator, congressman or aid who doesn't own an SUV? My wife (on foot) was brushed back on a corner by Liddy Dole tearing around in her SUV a few months back.
