I think 2000-2 was just a wave 4 of the nearly 30-year secular bull, and 2002-7 was the final fifth wave. Either way is irrelevant in the time frames I care about - the next 2-5 years. `BC

How about July-August as A down, August-October as B up, and October to wherever this ends as C down? Personally, I think the Spitzer prostitution announcement marks the low. -g

The SPX did get that new low -- 2 days ago. As regards the need for the so-called A wave off the 2000 high to be a 5-waver, well, there is no need for it to be such. A waves in a flat, and we are talking about a giant flat from 2000 to a few years from now, are usually 3-wavers and are sometimes just messy combo's of 3-wavers. Original chart posted earlier this month: fotothing.com --------------- AA..Agree new SPX low would open the door to an impulsive move down...which would presage more down ahead... That large ABC count has long been noted on the thread as a possible count...FWIW the problem I've had with is that it would imply..1).. that the 2000-2002 decline was an impulsive 5-waver , and 2)..that the 2002-2007 advance has been a corrective 3-waver..I find it difficult to see either one in the wave structure.
