You can thank all of the subsidies for solar and wind and all of the red tape for nuclear power.

There is red tape for solar and wind and there are subsidies for nuclear.

Of course, solar and wind doesn't have the potential to cause another "Chernobyl," nor are they desirable targets for terrorists.

Yeah the safety thing for nuke plants certainly has a higher threshold. And the byproduct disposal thing is not only expensive but also a unresolved political problem.
