The trading collars are out, circuit breakers are still in -- nyse.com CME S&P futures contract limits -- cme.com Since the practical effect of the limits is to arrest panic, one could reasonably expect that they would provide enough time to organize a temporary "save". However, price discovery being rather inexorable even when impeded, a few weeks later chances are the indexes would be back down to where the previous save occurred, promulgating another decline and the need for another save -- and so on until we find the real bottom
