If diesel gets any more expensive, they can prolly substitute Cisco Red with a minimum of retrofitting.....<G>

You are mostly right but if memory serves me jet fuel doesn't have to have all the sulfur removed, which is an expensive refinement.

At some point in the last 5 years both diesel and gasoline made a big and permanent jump in price (not at the same time). The reason was new regulations that forced the removal of almost all sulfur in the fuel. Diesel required it for mandated, and desperately needed, clean air technologies. Gasoline needed it to make rollouts of new technologies like PEM possible. Sulfur permanently damages these technologies.

The fuel you buy today is much purer than the fuel you bought 5 years ago. Because of this it would be improper to make long range inflation comparisons using fuel.
