"The transporting across state lines has to do with forced prostitution. Which isn't the case here. "

Apparently, even though the Mann Act was passed to deal with "white slavery", it has been interpreted to mean a lot of things.

If you cross state lines with a woman to whom you are not married and have sex with her, you can be prosecuted. That is a pretty wide net.

Is there anybody here who hasn't violated the Mann Act?

CJ, > No, apparently the FBI got involved when the the IRS noted some suspicious bank transactions that involved some shell companies. They originally thought it had to do with bribery.

Oh OK, thanks for reminding me.

I heard the investigations were started in part by Spitzer himself, which then later involved the FBI for reasons including what you said.

What goes around comes around. Surprising that Spitzer won't step down, though. Affairs are one thing, but being tied to organized crime, even as a client, greatly diminishes the power he has.
