Yeah, just pure stupid. You need a gun to fire the bullet and the bullet match's the gun. A shell casing has no meaning as it may have missed or even be a casing from a blank.

"We can already match bullets to the gun fired from and this is done all the time. Why bother to match shell casings? This doesn't make any sense."

As a gun expert, you should know that identifying the slug is often impossible.... and if it can be identified, the gun that shot it is out there among 300,000,000 other guns, ie needle in a haystack come to mind? A marking on the casing would make it trivial to prove which weapon it came from....what's wrong with that.....does it restrict your rights? That doesn't make sense????

"From getting guns, nothing. However, they can defend themselves against criminals."

Therefore we should have the lowest crime rate in the world.....how many people are in our prisons now?

" .., cars, trucks, knives, etc are sold to criminals too. You want to restrict the right of the law-abiding to own those too?"

Marshmellows are sold to criminals also.... You know of any serial killer that used his car or truck as a murder weapon? You know of any mass murderer that did it with a knife?
