In addition, oil importers like Germany and England have been slowly weaning themselves off oil. Such utter bull!!! In Hessen socialist candidate almost one the race on her platform of "no more coal fired plants" (and of course, no nuke plants). Once again, you are talking out of your butthole........if you go to the site below and double click on the country, you will see that most of the major European countries saw their oil consumption peak around 1980. Since then, their oil consumption has slowly drifted sideways or down. However, the same can't be said about the US.......our consumption continues to slope upwards: services.alphaworks.ibm.com The economies of Europe are larger than they were in 1980 so the impact/pain of oil has been lessened.
