.......from an economic standpoint, putting the damn thing underground makes perfectly good sense.....frees up land not only for a park but for new development sites downtown.....improving city revenues. It will cause increased development along the wharfs because tourists will have easier access...again improving revenues.

Going against the will of the people is elitist, especially when he has no plan on how to pay for the equivalent of a Seattle Big Dig project. The only economic sense it made is if you owned property that would now have a nice view of the sound - probably greg five cents has been buying buildings to line his pockets in such an event.

Only if greg five cents makes it a bike tunnel and bans cars. Which given his elitist views on traffic - would make sense.
