I think McCain will wait to see which candidate he will be facing in the Election.

If it's Clinton, then I think they'll figure "Hillary Hatred" will hold the Red States, so they'd be more likely to look at someone that could help in the Blue States.

If it's Obama, then it becomes much more complex because Obama may bring out the African American (and independent) vote like never before and that could put some Red States in play.

There's been some talk about Condi Rice (as if that would help with ANY constituency..lol), but I think they'll figure out that that wouldn't be good.

I don't think McCain will be picking any running mates until the Deomocrats come up with a candidate.
