You know, it drives me crazy to see these guys like the 'tan man' Angelo Mozilo walk away with hundreds of millions, while their companies crumble and the working stiffs get laid off with nothing. I watched the Waxman hearings the other day where they were grilling Mozilo, and the former CEO's of Merrill and Citigroup, along with compensation committee board members of those firms. The former CEO of Merrill walked away with something like 160 million. Waxman asked the head of Merrill's compensation committee why they didn't just fire O'Neal (in which case he would have gotten 6 million). The guy replied 'he could only be fired for cause and poor financial performance didn't fit that parameter'!!! Regards, John
