Interesting chart of the 1966 - 1982 secular bear. It doesn't reflect the fact that during the same time period inflation destroyed 75% of the purchasing power of the dollar. In other words, if you put in $1K in the market in '66, by '82 not only you didn't make any money, but your 1K could buy only $250 worth of goods in 1966 dollars. No fun at all.
